You’re a busy person — don’t let car problems get in your way. At Invicta Garage we can arrange your MOT for you. We carry out a pre-inspection of your vehicle before taking it to a local VOSA Registered MOT Station to be tested. If your vehicle fails its MOT Invicta Garage can provide you with a no obligation quote to carry out the work.
Tyres
Our tyres come in a wide range of options from runflat tyres to reinforced models designed to cope with extra loads and at a price to suit your pocket. Choose cheap tyres from our budget range or select from premium brands including Pirelli and Goodyear for maximum performance and safety.
Please make sure you bring your locking wheel nut key along for your appointment. If you have locking wheel nuts fitted, we will need the key in order to remove the wheels from your car. The locking wheel nuts can usually be found in the glove box or underneath the boot liner along with the spare tyre.

Batteries
The average car battery lasts 5 to 7 years, however there is often little warning of a failure, leaving you out in the cold. We are now offering a free battery diagnostics check to avoid an unhappy situation, plus a road-side assistance fee. If you're experiencing issues such as dimming headlights, slow or non-existant engine turnover or a muffled or distorted horn the battery is the first place to check, and we'll happily do this free of charge.
We carry a stock of the best batteries in the most common sizes, and have a same-day ordering system for everything less common. We will also happily fit a spare should you wish to supply your own.
We even offer a mobile fitting service should you find yourself unable to start your vehicle.
Exhaust Repair & Replacement Service at Invicta Garage
Your car's exhaust pipe serves a number of purposes, but it needs to be in good condition and working well for you to get the best fuel economy possible and reduce the CO2 emissions produced by your car.
When you bring your car to Invicta Garage we can advise on and then carry out any repair or replacement needed to keep your car running at its peak.
We carry out a free visual exhaust check as part of our vehicle health check, which checks the exhaust, catalytic converter and mountings for physical damage, leaking joints and corrosion.

Clutches
Specialist clutch repair and clutch replacement saves you time and money. Our highly-qualified clutch technicians will diagnose problems more quickly and repair or replace a clutch in a timely fashion.
A standard clutch assembly comprises of several different parts that fit together and assist in helping you to change gear and pull away smoothly. These are the clutch cover, clutch plate, pressure plate, clutch fork, clutch cable or hydraulic system and bearing. There is one other vital component called the flywheel that sits next to the engine and this helps keep the clutch and engine spinning at the same time. All of these components can wear out and might need replacing. We can professionally diagnose which parts of the clutch need replacing so the entire job can be as economic for you as possible.
Shock Absorbers
As shock absorbers wear they become less effective. For example, the damping becomes less and less. As the effectiveness of shocks degrades it's not always easy for the average motorist to realise this. You can inspect them within the wheel arches for signs of leakage. Oil stains are a clear sign, you should replace the damper ASAP. Wear like this is also an instant MOT fail. Not all worn shocks leak so don't rely on that method. Scalloped dips in the tyre is another thing to watch for on the tyres edges.

Diagnostics
At Invicta Garage we use state of the art Snap-on equipment for vehicle diagnostics which can read the engine fault codes in your ECU’s memory. Our fully-trained technicians can then suggest any necessary repairs to get you back on the road and rectify the error so there’s no need to pay vehicle dealership prices for your diagnostics check next time a dashboard warning light appears in your car
When car warning lights illuminate on your dashboard, an engine diagnostics check can help identify the problem before more serious damage occurs.
Most modern vehicles today contain an on-board computer known as an Engine Control Unit (ECU) which continually monitors the performance of the vehicle. Sensors all around the vehicle report back to the ECU if there are problems such as low fluid levels or increased engine temperature. When an issue is identified the ECU generates an error code. The relevant dashboard warning lights will then be displayed.
There are literally hundreds of potential error codes that can only be read by specialist vehicle diagnostic equipment. While a warning light may display on the dashboard alerting you to an issue, a diagnostics check is required to understand the full extent and cause of the problem.
Wheel Alignment
Wheel misalignment will affect the handling and safety of your vehicle and also lead to uneven tyre wear.
You will almost certainly not detect it, but a small amount of misalignment (1mm) means your tyre is being forced sideways approximately 1 metre every mile you travel. This is why it is essential to have the tracking regularly checked.
